love-in-mind-palace:

That’s their wedding day, that’s them entering the wedding suite. Fight me.

“John! We are falling behind schedule! The speeches.”

“That’s your main thought right now? The schedule? ‘Cause I was thinking we could…” John smiles and licks his lips as he tilts his head towards their suite, eyes wide and full of invitation.

Sherlock opens his mouth; closes it again.

“Put it this way: would you rather stick to the schedule, or have half an hour with your new husband, who’s quite keen to show you how happy he is you married him?” Sherlock opens his mouth again, and John slightly raises one finger on the hand leaning against the doorframe. “– Bearing in mind that they’re all down there drinking bubbly, having a good time, and knowing nothing about the schedule.”

Sherlock sets his lips, opens the suite door and steps inside. “Not half an hour, John. Get it down to twenty minutes, and we have a deal.”

John smiles, eyes crinkling. He nods determinedly and steps into the room after his new husband. “I can work with that.”
