Andrew Scott with his arms for Attitude

“Sherlock?”
“Yes, John?”
“Are you wearing bee socks?”
“…Yes.”
“You’re adorable.”
[please no reposts only reblogs, thank you]
I’m 26, so I feel like it shouldn’t bother me this much. But it’s like that “shhh let people enjoy things” meme y’know? You do you, I do me. You like EDM and not punk? Cool; I don’t like EDM and I do like punk. It doesn’t mean that anything except differences in taste so there’s no need to be a jerk about it. *exhales loudly*
Other people imposing their opinion as if it’s fact will always be bothering! But I find now I’ve hit thirty I don’t give enough of a fuck to do anything other than let them embarrass themselves and possibly smirk a bit 😂
There’s always the firm “no, it’s not ‘crap’, it’s just not your preferred [thing]”, too. The bright ones realise they’re behaving as if theirs is the only opinion in the world. The blindly self-obsessed ones will blunder on in their own little worlds. And you’ll carry on liking what you like, regardless ☺️
I kind of really needed this…
This actually made me feel better
Mostly I’m talking about an overall trend that’s just given me the shits. Esepecially if you like something that’s Trashy(tm) and even if you acknowledge it, there will always be someone going NOOO YOU CAN’T LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT’S TRASHY AND I DON’T LIKE IT SO NO-ONE CAN ENJOY IT. Aghhhhh
I get you anon! I think I’m getting more immune to that as I age, though. It feels so secondary school, you know? I’ll like what I like, and if somebody disagrees I just shrug and say “oh well, we all like different things” ☺️
(I have one RL friend who will try to change my mind over whether to like things – they hate Ben C, for example, for very Tumblr reasons. They also know that I literally just won’t engage with them on it. I’m pleasant about it, but I’ve literally had to say, “I’m not getting into this with you, our opinions differ and that’s fine with me” before.)
But yes – the trend is enervating.
