Fred Judge, founder of the eponymous postcard company, took a series of photos of London By Night, published in book form in 1924. The lighting, the focus, the fog and the people present an evocative but recognisable sense of what a night in town would have been like 94 years ago. From top to bottom, Tottenham Court Road, ‘The Westminster Bus Stop’, ‘By The Waldorf Hotel’, Leicester Square and ‘A Night Arrival At The Grand Hotel’. More to follow.
