steven: i cut a couple of lines there i
wish i’d kept in where he says you saved my life, i nearly killed you, and he
says, and you didn’t hit the middle of the coin. nobody’s perfect. it slightly
covers the fact that although she saves his life she also nearly killed him

HOLY FUCK

It’s STARING US IN THE FACE in hlv. The coin shows us that when Mary tries to shoot something, she doesn’t hit her target perfectly. It’s just a little off. Just like she meant to aim for Sherlock’s heart.

Moffat, in the HLV dvd commentary, revealing too much: that they scratched his line. Because it would have made this too blatant.

She also slightly missed her target in John. Which was why shooting Sherlock was necessary in the first place. With him around, she’d never do more than have a part of John’s heart.
