BBC London News, 28/11/2018

Is there going to be another series?

MG: Well, we’re not teasing, we just keep saying this: we don’t know.

SM: None of us have decided to stop – at some point we might reassemble, but we’ll see.

MG: Like the Avengers.

SM: Unless we get stuck inside this Escape Room—

MG: Which is entirely possible! [laughter]

SM: —and never get out, the entire cast and production crew, unable to get out of the Sherlock Escape Room—

MG: Wait, wait, that is Series Five! [more laughter] It’s very meta. The entire cast and crew are trapped inside their own escape room, for three 90-minute episodes—

SM: ‘But Benedict, you’re supposed to be the clever one, come on!’

MG: [more laughter] The public have to help us get out. That’s quite good…

“unable to get out of the Sherlock Escape Room” oh you mean like the original creator supposedly couldn’t get away from his creation

“the public have to help us get out” oh you mean like public demand supposedly bringing ACD to create more Sherlock Holmes stories, time and again, solidifying the myth of ACD’s Holmes-hatred and the concept of an undying, unfeeling Sherlock Holmes

“it’s very meta” [lights cigarette, stares blankly into mid-air, sighs]

Word of Warning about The Game is Now

Isn’t it suspicious how no one has posted anything about the escape room. I’ve heard nothing, no spoilers, no hints, no enjoyment from fans who have been. Strange, right? It’s exactly the sort of thing that would leak.

There’s only one conclusion. The “escape” room is a façade. It’s fake. It’e a trap.

We got too clever. We saw too much. We spoiled their surprises one time too many. So Moftiss did what they had to. Built a honeytrap for Johnlock fans: an escape room, with all our favourite things – Moriarty, Freebeard, a warped skull picture on the wall of 221B. But once we go in… we’ll never get out.

Trapped in a back room – possibly modelled on Sherrinford, because of course Moftiss would go for the dramatic flair – are increasing numbers of Johnlockers… there is no escape from this room.

@fellshish has even suggested they might be ending our activities more perminently – serial killers, hidden in plain sight, in a series of rooms they had built specially for the purpose.

So please, be excited, but enter with caution. This may be Moftiss’ solution to their Final Problem…

You should make it more clear you’re joking 🙈🙈🙈🙈

This is a deadly serious warning and I would appreciate if you didn’t diminish the potential risk here!!!!! 😂

Moftiss waterboarding us: say Sherlock is straight and we’ll let you out of the escape room

Us, sipping water: never, water is gay!

Have we talked about the significance of 1859? The annotated edition i have (baring-gould) suggests holmes was born in 1854, and watson in 1852. Are there differing schools of thought about this? An 1859 birth date would make holmes just 22 in 1881 when he meets watson, seems a bit young even for a genius to have had time to learn that much chemistry, forensics, etc.

@astudyincanon and the rest of the acd era posse?

@sarahthecoat ACD was born in 1859!
